To get to discover Vans Europe’s new skate edit, this time we travel to Spain to know in deep ASIPLANCHABA, a women skate collective based in Barcelona. ASIPLANCHABA is not only a skate media, it is an awesome community that gathers women into skateboarding. Founded by Verónica Trillo, it gets its name from an old and sexist 80s Spanish song about girls playing “girls” games. Now, as a sarcastic response to that, ASIPLANCHABA is something much more empowering. They are based in Barcelona but skaters from not only Spain but the whole world know about their inspiring crew that not only skates and have fun together, but also express themselves through creativity, on and off the board. That’s when Dolores was born, a free skateboarding magazine focused on women. The magazine launches 2 times per year and through its pages you can discover the most interesting talent in the local women skate community, not only on board, but also in the photography field. This video is a trip to their daily “missions” and a chance to understand their bond as they share an incredible passion for skateboarding. Directed by the canarian filmmaker Dani Millán, Barcelona’s skate hotspots as Parc de les Tres Xemeneies or Sants Square are highlighted in this documentary piece. ASIPLANCHABA is now available to watch at Vans Europe YouTube channel. Follow @vansskate & @vanseurope via Instagram to know more about Vans’s skate team.
